Inner Wisdom - Tapping Into What You Already Know
Inner Wisdom - Tapping Into What You Already Know By Lisa Princic
Do you find yourself waiting for a sign that you are on the right path to doing what you are meant to do and being who you are meant to be?
The chances are you have probably already received these signs and many of them. Most of us under-estimate what we already know.
Are you one of those people who is waiting for the time when you feel 150% certain about what you want to do before you try that path. Well guess what?... You could conceivably never be in that position where the path looks absolutely certain. Realistically there is always some risk. We could wait in the wings forever just to get our plan perfect, but then we might be missing out on the opportunity to start feeling really good, RIGHT NOW.
Here is how you can start connecting to your source:
Interview yourself
- Review past experiences and moments when you were "following your bliss" or "in your element".
- Look ahead 10 - 15 years and take note of what you see.
- Write all of your insights now.
- Check in with what you are avoiding. If you have a strong aversion to an idea, it is probably something that you should look more closely at. Fear often prevents people from seeing the most exciting possibilities.
Take baby steps
- How do you know that something feels right until you try it? I love taking bold steps but this method is not for everything. Small action steps are better than none.
- Baby steps will provide you with information, new contacts, new ideas and proof that you can create momentum.
- Keep moving by following leads until they either fizzle out or lead to something better and more exciting.
- Remember there is no failure, just feedback. Do something each day that leads you closer to knowing yourself.
Trust the process
- Most fulfilled people trust that they are on the right path and when they see sign posts on the road, they follow them.
- Bring trust into your journey by observing your reactions and taking note of how you feel about each new experience.
- Think of it like a mini research project of which you don't know the results yet - you know that the results will inevitably come.
- Remind yourself that you don't need to know exactly what the answer is in order to believe the end result is worth it.
Develop a practice of patience & persistence
- With these two qualities, you will get through the former three actions. A patient mind can give anyone the strength to get through minor or major setbacks.
- Persistence can get you to wherever you want to go. It forces you to practice the skills you need and keeps you focused on the journey of learning. Practice, practice, practice!
When you do finally get a good feel for what you want, whether it be something small like a daily self-care practice or a bigger leap like venturing into a new profession in an entrepreneurial way, make a commitment to those goals to keep them front and center in your life.
Do not wait for perfection, tap into your knowledge, get out there and share your gifts with the world.
