RLM PLANNING AND LEADERSHIP

TRANSFORMING LEADERSHIP BY TRAINING GREAT LEADERS

How much money are new leaders loosing for you?

How much more could they be making?

If you haven't asked this question, you should! Who you put in leadership positions is critical to the success of your business, that's why you put them there. But so often they don't get the right training to help them develop in that leadership position.

Whether you call them leaders, managers, or anything else, Preparing to Lead will start them off right!

Very few people are born leaders, and those that are still need to develop their talent.

Preparing to Lead is a comprehensive training course to help newly promoted leaders develop the ability to work with others to get the job done; and make the organization more successful. The course consists of 7 modules, each containing a wealth of information to help you develop your leaders.

Module 1 helps new leaders explore who they are, what their values are, and some tips to get them started as leaders. The module also discusses the difference between leaders and managers.

Module 2 provides a short overview of leadership theory, then explains how to apply that theory to individual situations. The module ends with a suggested reading list to start new leaders on the way to leadership excellence.

Module 3 covers relationships with bosses and subordinates, and discusses leadership styles. Should a leader adopt a single leadership style or is flexibility a better approach?

Module 4 looks at a critical skill, managing time. There are only so many hours available to everyone and the more efficiently they are used, the easier life is. The module also presents some tips for chairing and participating in meetings and making those meetings more effective and less onerous for those who attend. Finally, the module looks at how a leader can make teams more effective and efficient.

Module 5 looks at interpersonal relationships starting with suggestions for more effective communication. It then moves to managing change within the organization and some ways to be an effective counselor. The module finishes up with a short discussion of your relationship with other leaders who are now your peer group.

Module 6 covers how to delegate work effectively, and presents some suggestions for better problem solving and decision making.

Module 7 finishes up the course with some thoughts on diversity and the various generations found in the today's work place. The module concludes with a short discussion of a new leader's relationship with unions.
